Frequently dominated by its neighbor Ubud. The peaceful
locale of Tampaksiring is a home for a few intriguing goals with regards to
Bali. One of them is a significant sanctuary, called Tirta Empul Temple. The
name Tirta Empul generally signifies "water that spurt out starting from
the earliest stage".
Alluding to the springs situated in this sanctuary. Balinese
accept that the spring water here holds blessed properties. It is said that the
God Indra himself pierced the earth to make these springs. As indicated by the
fantasy, the old lord of Mayadenawa harmed the God Indra's military. As a type
of defiance toward the divine beings.
Infuriated by Mayadenawa's wrathfulness, God Indra made a
water source to counter Mayadenawa's toxin. He at that point vanquished
Mayadenawa. His triumph over Mayadenawa's evilness is praised every year by
Balinese as "Hari Raya Galungan" (Galungan Holiday).
The sanctuary is among a couple of sanctuaries in Bali with
a blessed water source (other being Ulun Danu Temple). Balinese perform
Melukat, a washing custom to clean one's body and soul, consistently at Tirta
Empul.
It's among the most popular sanctuaries in Bali, with the
two local people and vacationers taking an interest in the Melukat parade. In
2017, previous USA president Barack Obama and his family visited Tirta Empul
during their vacation to Bali.
